About comments boxes and speaking to brick walls

I recently considered turning off the comments box on this page. My reasons were noble -

Lately I've been struggling to respond individually to comments. Often times, i use the comments log as the first instance of blogs i visit when doing blog rounds. And when I'm done with that, i often find the contentment i am selfishly searching for,  and I'm happy to go to bed often forgetting that i have not replied comments on mine.

So the problem was not really about being too anal to do the needful replies. i'm often just more curious to read the other person's thoughts than to maintain a conversation on mine.

So i reasoned that if i couldn't be disciplined enough to complete blog duties, then just disable comments box. Simples.

I had pretty much made up my mind until i visited two particular blogs who have turned off comments lately and i found myself really genuinely and royally pissed off about that situation.  Yes there's an email which i could have kindly sent my thoughts into, but i just couldn't be arsed to. I felt like an intruder in a private space stupidly trying to speak to a giant brick wall that would never reply me anyways.

Like seriously, who turns off blog comments?! I'm certain it must be against some constitutional law to disable my right to comment on your blog! It's just not right. Particularly because that post hit the nail right on the head, and it was awesome, and I thought this person's mind must belong to the gods! And you had me furiously searching all over the place like an addict pinning for a fix. Comment comment comments give me comments, i need to comment now nooooow!

But alas, the hypocrisy in my rant.

P.S. I was going to include a descriptive image of someone talking to a brick wall. Pictures are amazing to drive home a point quickly, and they're easy on the eyes too. Then as i downloaded the image,  i noticed some copyright declarations linked to the image,  and i got doubly pissed! What is it with this world, everybody trying to make money off every thing! People should calm down! Calm down people!!!!

And i should probably calm down too.

P.P.S: Duru&Janyl.B....I'm watching you two....and this love thang that's seemingly brewing.

  1. Thank God you didn't disable the comments box yet..... I also find it difficult or should I say I'm entirely lazy to reply comments on my blog too even when I totally appreciate them....
I also noticed the "love affair" between Duru and Janyl.... I'm observing from the corner

  2. heheheheh with all due respect oga boss, Lemme ignore first the P.S and delve into the post.:) I really dont gerrit.. I mean bet why!! Why would someone put up a post and deactivate the comment section? I mean I never hexsspect it yeah, and when I see it ehn, it tips me off big time. I mean sending a frigging mail is similar to dropping a kind comment. even more complex with all them Subjects and signatures, then why deactivate comments? Why put out a thought and refuse to hear other peoples responses. Oh well, i guess over time it all boils down to Author and their Why? Maybe he or she wants it that way, its all choice. Oga Boss T-notes, i beg you in the name of our future individual bad Ass 4x4's and GT bank, please dont close down your comment section ooo, that will make me cry my GP tank of tears out.

hehehehe About the P.S; A mother cannot forget her son, as she has to constantly inspire and nurture him to become somebody noteworthy, and a son on the other hand will always be indebted to his mother for her sleepless nights. Its that simple a case sir. **Shines teeth. Cheers Oga boss, and i wish you a ghen ghen 2015.

  3. I cant imagine the frustration i would feel if i read a good post and was unable to post a comment. my email response would encourage the blogger to shut down the blog. if you are that selfish, why share in the first place? lol @ calm down. evidence to the redness of eyes everywhere.

  5. I felt the exact same way when I read a blog with closed comments as well last week however, I know the reason for the closed comment so it didn't bug me so much. In fact, i went to look for the blogger on IG just to let her know i wanted to comment so bad because the post was that good but yea, you need to calm down.

It takes me forever to reply my comments as well. Tasking stuff

As for Duru & Janyl... me too. Not getting fooled by the "mom" thing please. Electra complex anyone?

  7. I would write a long comment on how annoying it is when there's difficulty with commenting on a blog but my blog is guilty on nearly the same grounds. So I'll just shut up and support you.
